Combining the performance of high quality broadcast cameras and allied equipment delivers the finest image quality with unprecedented flexibility for full motion video to DVD. The addition of the Polecam (an investment of almost £33,000) has revolutionised the production values we can offer, whether for in-house projects or when filming for other production companies. You may decide to opt for a preferred production company for your project, but want them to incorporate the sort of images the Polecam can capture. If so, you can hire us to film specific elements of a production, which we can forward on for editing. We engage the services of broadcast professionals with vast television experience as required for each production, depending upon the complexities of the production and working budget. Specialist graphics can be developed from basic on screen text-based images to highly complex animations. Whatever you need, we can organise a solution that delivers every time. |

'Isn't it just about shooting the images and editing them together... how hard can it be?" A burger and chips will satisfy an appetite, but is hardly gourmet cuisine. The art of video production is the same. For example, a large part of the editing process should always be the colour correction and grading process, something which can take a significant amount of time to achieve the look that is pleasing to the eye. Every Hollywood movie has its colour "graded" to avhieve a look. Think about films like "The Matrix", and more recently "The Bourne Ultimatum", not to mention the brilliant "Sin City" and "The 300". Each of these films have a signature "look" to them, achieved through the manipulation of colours, particularly the last two films in the list. What you see on screen in the final edit was certainly not all achieved in the camera on set. Check the list of credits at the end and you will see the title of "Colorist" (American spelling!). The job of the Colorist is to correct everything from bland skin tones (common in video cameras where white balance is set to pure white), to creating those signature looks in the final edit. Your finished edit will also have this process applied, as it is vital to achieve a satisfying final look. Have a look at the examples below. The first showing the original image and the graded image used in a final composite. This is an extreme example of grading to achieve a highly stylized look. The second image from a wedding is an example of secondary colour correction, where the red bodice in the dress has been selected to retain its colour and the rest of the image desaturated to black and white, an effect you may have seen in the film Schindler's List, where the little girl in the red coat is always shown with a red coat despite the rest of the film being in black and white. The process is as relevant with less stylized projects where correction and grading has to be applied to every individual clip in the project in order to make your film look exactly right. Add to this modern, stylized and creative editing of the images with three dimensional graphics and you end up with something that sets your film apart from the rest.
